Federal Agents Remove Items from Schock's Illinois Office

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Federal agents have removed items from former Congressman Aaron Schock's campaign office in central Illinois.

Agents were seen Thursday removing items from the Peoria office. The (Peoria) Journal Star reports some agents wore identifying gear from the FBI as they loaded boxes and other things onto trucks.

Schock's attorney didn't immediately return messages for comment. Neither did an FBI spokesman.

U.S. Attorney's office spokeswoman Sharon Paul declined to comment.

Prosecutors are going through Schock's travel expenses and spending after reports surfaced he had decorated his Capitol Hill office in the style of TV's "Downton Abbey." The Republican resigned in March.

Former members of his staff have been testifying before a grand jury in Springfield, which is investigating allegations of improper spending.
