Belvidere Woman Gets 7 Years For Delivering Cocaine

BELVIDERE, Ill. (AP) — A northern Illinois woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to delivering cocaine to a police informant near a church.

The Boone County State's Attorney's Office said Thursday that 27-year-old Crystal Cepeda was sentenced Wednesday. It says Cepeda delivered around 1.3 grams of a substance containing cocaine to a cooperating witness in February and March.

The delivery occurred within 1,000 feet of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Belvidere.

Delivering narcotics within 1,000 feet of a church is a felony. It carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
