America’s 1st Foodie President
Okay, so it's fair to say that Thomas Jefferson had quite the resume. He wrote the Declaration of Independence, served as governor of Virginia, served in Congress, was George Washington's first Secretary of State, and was elected to two terms as our nation's 3rd president (I know, I know, there are lots of other things on the list, Jefferson fans!)
However, unless you have a pile of two-dollar bills (or nickels) in front of you, or you've been tasked with writing a paper on the founding fathers, chances are you don't give Thomas Jefferson a lot of thought on a regular basis.
If you're a "foodie," you should be thanking TJ, because without him, and his love for foods of all sorts, you might not have ever heard of a few things that are probably on your list of favorite foods.
Think mac and cheese is a "lowbrow" meal? Guess again:
