Road Trip? America’s Second Best City For Foodies is in Wisconsin
Talk about a surprise. I was so shocked, I was like "Man, you need to know about this."
When I see a list of the best foodie cities in America, I literally expect to see the usual suspects:
- New York
- Los Angeles
- Chicago
Instead what I found on Best Life's 10 Best Foodie Cities in the United States immediately got me thinking I need to plan a food-eating road trip, like right now.
That's because the second best city for foodies in America is about 60 minutes away from Rockford,
It's also considered the best place to live in America in a recent poll.
I guess what I'm saying is maybe Madison, Wisconsin is the best place to live in the U.S. because it's a food lover's heaven.
Best Life ranked Madison second overall on their list of foodie cities saying:
America's dairy capital has got the lock on all things cheese and cream, but the culinary scene goes much deeper.
For starters, every Saturday in the summer Madison has a huge farmers market that wraps around Capitol Square where you can find squeaky cheese curds, fresh honey sticks, sticky buns, fresh pressed juices, and pies. Fish Fry Fridays are also a time-old favorite, and many restaurants will offer a fish special featuring fresh catches with some polka music on the side.
So where specifically do you eat if you're looking to get the best meal Madison has to offer. Well, I'm sure it depends on who you ask but for me, I'm asking Yelp.
According to the restaurant review site, the best restaurant in Madison is Graft.
Located at 18 North Caroll Street, Yelp reviewer Jayson A. said dinner at Graft was "one of the best meals I've ever had." while Sue D. added, "Nice place but service a bit to be desired."
Even if you don't hit up Graft and go somewhere else, how wrong can you get? I mean, Madison is the second best foodie city in America.
