ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a northern Illinois man whose wife operated a home daycare with sexually abusing five children as young as 3.

The Winnebago County State's Attorney Office has charged 51-year-old David Seaton of Winnebago with 11 counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse and one count of predatory criminal sexual assault.

Seaton originally was charged Jan. 12 with a single count of aggravated sex abuse of a 3-year-old child enrolled in his wife's daycare. Since then, four more children have been identified as victims by Winnebago County Sheriff's Police detectives and prosecutors. Their ages weren't immediately clear.

The additional charges were filed this week.

Seaton is being held in the Winnebago County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

A message seeking comment was left Thursday for Seaton's public defender.
