What's Up, Doc? is a weekly health segment on WROK sponsored by MercyHealth. Each week they highlight a different doctor/healthcare professional to come on our show and talk to us about their specialty. It has turned into one of our favorite segments. All of our doctors have exhibited a "human" side that people don't always get to see with their physicians. We encourage you to check out some of our past episodes here. We've done about 30 of these segments highlighting everything from Lyme disease to hernia repair to finding a health care plan and everything else in between. We've learned a lot and hope you can too.

This week's guest on What's Up, Doc? is Mary Farley, a pediatric nurse that specializes in pediatric urology. Mary, like pretty much every other guest on What's Up, Doc? was a breeze to talk to and I'm pretty sure everyone who listened left with some new knowledge.

The bulk of our conversation centered around the number one thing she sees her patients about and that's bedwetting.

Bedwetting as we found out is pretty common in a lot of kids and shouldn't cause too much of an alarm in parents unless it's happening every night or continuing past age 5 or 6. We asked Mary if bedwetting was more of a physical or a mental hurdle for kids to get over and she said it was sometimes a combination of both but they have methods that will work for whatever is causing your child problems.

We thank Mary Farley for her time today and look forward to our next guest on What's Up, Doc?

A new episode of What's Up, Doc? airs every Thursday morning at 8:35 on 1440 WROK.
