Rockford Dietitian Admits To Eating Fast Food And Washing It Down With A Milkshake
What's Up, Doc? is a semi-weekly health segment on WROK sponsored by MercyHealth. Each show we highlight a different doctor/healthcare professional to come on our show and talk to us about their specialty. It has turned into one of our favorite segments. All of our doctors have exhibited a "human" side that people don't always get to see with their physicians. We encourage you to check out some of our past episodes here. We've done about 40 of these segments highlighting everything from Lyme disease to hernia repair to finding a health care plan and everything else in between. We've learned a lot and hope you can too.
Our guest on this week's What's Up, Doc? segment was licensed and registered dietitician and certified personal trainer with Mercyhealth, Jennifer Langner.
Jennifer was a wonderful guest with a great disposition, I can see her being a great motivator and counselor.
Some of the questions answered in this interview are:
- What kinds of patients does a dietitian see?
- What is a first appointment like with a dietitian?
- What types of patients do you typically see?
- What are some of the services you provide?
- Can you share a little bit about how customized nutrition therapy helps improve a person's health?
- Do I need a referral to see a dietitian?
Jennifer's wonderful personality shined throughout the interview, but especially when we asked her about patients having to admit to her what they actually ate throughout the week. She was quick to respond with an admission that she's not perfect either and no one should be too hard on themselves for what they eat.
We absolutely thank Jennifer Langner for giving us a bit of her time for this week's episode, she's welcome back anytime.
A new episode of What's Up Doc? airs every other Thursday morning at 8:35 on 1440 WROK.
