You've no doubt noticed that it's hot and getting hotter in and around the Rockford area, but how hot do we need to get to tie or break the record that was set in Rockford in 1936?
After the relatively cool summer we in the Rockford area just experienced, it seems somewhat odd that September would bring along with it a record-breaking heatwave. But it did, and we've got the numbers to prove it.
As I write this, Rockford's current temperature reading is -3 degrees, with a windchill or "feels like" temperature of -19 degrees. If you're feeling cold while wearing long underwear, winter clothes, a heavy jacket, hat, and boots--imagine how your dog must feel.
