Having been the victim of a car theft myself, I can tell you that it's a pretty unpleasant experience (as you might have already guessed). Luckily, no one was threatened or hurt--although I never saw my car or the stuff in it ever again. Maybe I should have gone with a less theft-inviting model.

You've got all kinds of spots that will be filling the skies with color and sound. Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Cherry Valley, Byron, Durand, and so many more are all going to deliver big this Independence Day.

With all the transportation alternatives waiting for the person who's had too much too drink, it's somewhat surprising that people go ahead and roll the dice with impaired driving. Nonetheless, they do--and Rockford Police are arresting them for it more than any other municipal police department in Illinois.

On the WROK Morning Show, Joe Dredge and I have different takes on creepy-crawlies. Joe will scream and run at the sight of literally any snake, and I am no particular fan of up-close-and-personal encounters of the spider kind. Since I'm the dad around my house, I have to man up and deal with them anyway, though.

Life is all about the green. For some, that means cash. For others, it's all about the environment. For companies looking to expand their share of the marketplace by showing how much they care about the planet, it's both. For Illinois, it seems to be about being in the middle.

My wife Amy, who loves any and all things involving snow more than most little kids do, looked at me last night as we were outside with our dog, and sadly said, "Remember when Rockford used to get snow in wintertime?"

I don't know about you, but we on the WROK Morning Show are in some serious need of sunshine. None of us suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), but I believe we're starting to develop it. And, with weather reports saying we won't see any sunshine until at least Sunday of this week, it's coming on fast.
