These days, it seems like nearly everyone is trying to set a world record...for something. Some do it for the notoriety, others do it to promote tourism, and some guys, like Chuck Uhing, of Milledgeville, are doing it because they want a legacy.
These days, the records you hear about Illinois setting are usually not good ones. Record pension deficits, record budget deficits, record budget impasse...you get the idea. Believe it or not, our state has produced some world records that we can actually be proud of.
