Illinois State Rep. Ron Sandack joined the show this week to recap where we're at in negotiations on the state budget plan.

Democrats in the House and Senate have approved a spending plan that is nearly $4 billion out-of-balance in the hope that Gov. Bruce Rauner will buckle to their pressure and accept massive tax hikes. Rauner has maintained there will be no new revenue without major reforms, and Sandack thinks Rauner will stand firm in this fight.

Sandack also told us that House Speaker Mike Madigan is trying to revise history in his recent comments. Madigan says Democrats are fighting for the middle class, but Sandack argues Madigan has been the one constant in Springfield during the time our financial situation has crashed.
