Starting on Saturday, all eyes in the competitive bowling world will be focused on the Stateline area. That's because The Cherry Bowl is hosting the BPAA Women's All Star Tournament and Bowling's Senior Women's U.S. Open, while over at Don Carter Lanes the 39th Annual International Family Tournament takes place.

The Women's All Star Tournament is open to any USBC female member while the Senior Women's U.S. Open is open to all USBC female members age 50 and older. Bowlers in the All Star Tournament will be competing for a share of a $75,000 prize fund with a $15,000 first prize. The prize fund for the Senior Women's U.S. Open is $10,000.

Among the stars registered to compete include Diandra Asbaty, Brittni Hamilton, Liz Johnson, Kelly Kulick, Danielle McEwan, Wendy Macpherson, Shannon O'Keefe and Shannon Pluhowsky.

Meanwhile parents and children team up to bowl for $70,000 in scholarships in the Family Tournament from July 19-21. It's the only sporting event in the United States in which parents participate with children for a national championship and scholarships for a significant amount of money.
