Epi The Arson Dog is on duty to help out the Rockford Fire Department.

When it comes to investigating suspicious fires in the Forest City, the Rockford Fire  Department is all in to solve the crime.

That includes bringing in some special help.

According to mystateline.com,

"The Rockford Fire Department has a new helping hand to investigate fires. Epi the Arson Dog has already been put to the test several times, in multiple investigations."

"Epi is a black Labrador trained by the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to sniff out anything that could have caused a fire."

The arson dog is trained to pick up the scent of substances used to start deliberate fires.

A search that could take a person several hours, can take Epi just a few seconds.

In his short career, the four-legged investigator has already assisted in 7 cases resulting in 2 arrests.

This looks like a great addition to the Rockford Fire Department.
