Rockford Area Memorial Day Festivities

I am always happy for a 3 day weekend. Especially when we take time to remember why we have it. Here are a list of activities going on around the area on Memorial Day.

Woodstock Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade---10 AM 

The ceremony will take place on the Woodstock Square starting at 10 AM with the parade to follow at 11 AM.

146th Annual Kishwaukee Cemetery Memorial Day Service---10 AM 

The festivities kick off at 10 AM with the address given by Frank Haney, A Winnebago County Board Chairman Candidate. The cemetery is located on Kishwaukee Road in Stillman Valley.

DeKalb Memorial Day Parade---9 AM

The parade will start at 9 AM on North 3rd Street and Lincoln Highway. A short program will follow.

Winnebago County Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies---9 AM

The parade will kick off at 9 AM at the intersection of 7th Street and 6th Avenue. After the parade, there will be a ceremony in front of Veterans Memorial Hall. Activities will include honorary speakers and a dove release.

Agent Orange Memorial Service---11 AM

The Vietnam Veteran’s Honor Society will hold an Agent Orange Memorial service at 11 a.m. at the L Z Orange Memorial Wall at the L Z Peace Memorial located at Midway Village & Museum Center, 6799 Guilford Road.
