Nothing makes dealing with extremes in the weather easier than stuffing your face with hot dogs (as long as they're ketchup free).

I'm sure that like me, you're celebrating National Hot Dog Week by decorating the outside of your house with twinkling hot dog shaped lights, making sure that you've got the required amount of poppy seeds per bun (experts recommend at least 280-350 poppy seeds per), and placing carefully-wrapped jars of giardiniera underneath the Frankfurter Tree in your living room.

Okay, I'm being told that not everyone has a Frankfurter Tree. I'll wait while you get one.

There. That's more like it.

Even if you don't fully celebrate National Hot Dog Week the way the my family does (in the interests of full disclosure, it's just me. My family avoids me like ketchup on a hot dog this time every year), you can still take part by heading over to Portillo's at 6090 East State Street.

They've got a deal going on for the hot dog lover in your life.

You can purchase two hot dogs for $5 as part of a week-long special from Monday, July 15 to Sunday July 21.

The restaurant will also offer free delivery this week to locations that order at least $10 worth of food online.

Portillo’s says there are a few exceptions. The National Hot Dog Week special is not valid for the Jumbo Hot Dog, Chili Cheese Dog, Jumbo Chili Cheese Dog, Char-Grilled Maxwell Street Polish Sausage, Fast Packs, or catering orders.
