When it comes to food at sporting events, a poor menu can lead to a crappy experience.

When you're rooting on a mid to poor baseball/football/basketball team and the food is just as meh, then it's really miserable.

I always thought the food at Guaranteed Rate Field, aka Comiskey Park (where the White Sox play), was always better than their team.

Now the team is actually on par with the food options.

On the other hand, in the last seven or eight years, the Cubs were better than the food.

Historically, the food at Wrigley coupled with the sorry Cubs teams was a match made in hell. The only saving grace was the delicious and somehow tastier than it should be Old Style beer.

Speaking of, have you ever had an Old Style outside of a Cubs game? Doesn't taste quite the same, but I digress.

Anyway, now the Cubs are kinda OK, not great, but it turns out the food at Wrigley, namely the dogs are better than the players on the field.

According to LoveFood, the Chicago-style Hot Dog at Wrigley Field is one of America's Best Game Day Eats.

LoveFood via MSN:

There’s no question that some of America’s greatest hot dogs can be found at baseball stadiums and perhaps none is greater than the Chicago Dog at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. The secret to a proper Chicago-style hot dog is a Vienna beef sausage on a poppyseed bun with relish, yellow mustard, diced onions, sport peppers, fresh tomatoes and celery salt. There are other toppings available at Wrigley, of course, but this is the undisputed classic.

Hard to disagree with the picture LoveFood paints and just like Old Style, the hot dogs at Wrigley just taste better there than at home.
