Police Find a Gun at Sycamore High School, But There’s a Twist

Sycamore police were called to Sycamore High School on Tuesday, after they received reports of a gun at the school.

At 11:55 am on Tuesday morning, a Sycamore High school resource officer was told there was a gun in a locker. The locker was immediately searched and police located a starter pistol. A starter pistol is used at sporting events such as track and field. A starter pistol, looks very much like a gun, but cannot fire a round.

Sycamore police did not provide information on the student who is assigned the locker, or if the student made any sort of threats.

The school was not evacuated and no one appeared to be in danger as the item was not an actual firearm.
