Over the last few weeks, I've posted a series of things on our great state of Illinois. The problem is, most of the things I've posted don't take a real positive view of the Land of Lincoln. Worst place to raise kids, biggest job losses, the state with the most residents eager to leave, etc, etc.

It's not a deliberate attempt to impugn Illinois, it's just that, well, that's the kind of news Illinois has been making for the last number of years.

Today, I was intrigued by a report I saw that detailed how one Illinois town, Havana, is the Asian Carp Capitol of the World. More Asian carp can be found here in Illinois than in, well, Asia.

I know what you're saying. "Riley, that's really not something we can be proud of, do you think?"

Normally, I'd agree. But, after seeing what these anything-but-normal guys are doing about Asian carp, I felt a swell of Illinois pride. Check out the Peoria Carp Hunters, and their interesting offensive against the invasive species:

Wait, there's a sequel:

Bringing back state pride to Illinois, one carp at a time.
