You don't have to head to either coast in order to get one of the best beach getaways.

That's because just north of Rockford, there's a tiny town that's "beloved for its lovely Green Bay beaches, wide biking trails, quaint downtown, and adorable waterfront cottages."

Best Life put together a list of the 17 Best Beach Getaways in America and primarily featured states on the west and east coast of America.

While each one of those destinations would be considered a fabulous summer vacation, only one was in the Midwest.

Best Life ranked Fish Creek, Wisconsin as one of the best beach getaways in the U.S.

Fish Creek became a popular resort town at the turn of the 20th century...Spend your days exploring Peninsula State Park—sunbathing on Nicolet Beach and hiking or biking the several nature trails.

There are segway and kayak tours at the aforementioned Pennisula Park too. Don't forget to check out the Door County Sunset Tour if you're up for it.

It looks like there's a slew of good eats in the Fish Creek too. There are seven restaurants ranked a 4.5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor.

TripAdvisor also lists one five-star hotel in Fish Creek. Based on 308 different reviews Main Street Motel sounds like the place to stay if you're planning a visit.

Joan S. on TripAdvisor says Main Street Motel is "Probably the best location in Fish Creek."

You got plenty of things to do, good eats, a great place to stay, and a phenomenal beach. What more could you want in summer vacation?
