One Man Dead In Shooting Near Downtown Rockford

Rockford police are conducting a murder investigation after a shooting near the downtown area.

According to a press release, officers responded to 421 Olive Street on Thursday night after reports of a shooting incident. When they arrived, officers found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, a 38-year-old male from Garden Prairie, was transported to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
