Put this on the Mt. Rushmore of performances in a Cub uniform.

36 years ago today Ryne Sandberg had 5 hits, 2 (game tying) home runs (in the 9th and 10th innings), and 7 RBIs in a wild 11 inning 12-11 victory over the hated Cardinals.

NOTE: I hate the Cardinals as much as anyone but those powder blue uniforms are pretty sweet.

Ask any Cub fan over the age of 50 what their favorite Cub memory is pre-Sammy Sosa and this will most likely be the answer.

If you're unfamiliar with the game, you could find a worse way to spend 11 minutes than watching the above video, it's CLASSIC 80's Wrigley. Shirtless dudes in the outfield. Harry Caray AND Bob Costas on the call at various points. It seems like it was quite the party.
