There's good news this morning for the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Thanks to Walmart (and a whole lot of people casting votes), the organization has picked up $60,000 to help in its efforts.

It's part of Walmart’s "Fight Hunger. Spark Change." campaign, which is distributing $3.7 million in donations to help fight U.S. hunger. NIFB was selected after finished as one of the top vote-getters among food banks from across the country.

According to Walmart:

These grants will help food banks and partner agencies secure the food, equipment and support they need to help serve the 49 million Americans that, according to the USDA, may not know where their next meal will come from at some point this year.

Northern Illinois Food Bank is the source of nutritious food, innovative feeding programs, and hope for more than 71,000 people each week across a 13-county service area. Here's a bit more on the organization:
