Over Christmas break, the Milwaukee Zoo is free.

I am just a kid at heart. I love going to the zoo with my family. I enjoy seeing the animals. It puts me in a good mood. I have been lucky to visit different ones all over the world. We are lucky because we have nice zoos that are not too far from Rockford. There is Milwaukee, Madison, Brookfield, and Lincoln Park. We even have Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere.

The one thing I have never done is gone to a zoo during the winter. I always go in the summer. I think it would be a whole other experience. I have been wanting to see the Zoo Lights over the holidays for years, but nobody in my family will go with me because they think it is too cold to be outside and wandering around a zoo. Hopefully, someday I will be able to check it out.

Usually, during Christmas break, the kids have a lot of things to do and parents have several choices to keep them busy. Unfortunately, many of those events and activities have been canceled. Anything inside is completely out. Parents are going to have to search out fun outdoor stuff. Plus, they probably just dropped a bunch of money on Christmas presents so the budget might be limited. Luckily, there are some options.

According to tmj4.com,

"Your chance to visit the Milwaukee County Zoo, for free, has arrived. People will get free admission to the zoo during "Frosty Free Week," Dec. 26 – 31, 2020. The Zoo is open from 9:30 to 3 p.m. daily, at a limited attendance capacity."

You have to make a reservation in advance, no walk-ups.

You will be able to see the animals from cold weather climates like a snow leopard baby and river otters.
