Many of you might know Mark Davis from his many appearances guest-hosting for Rush behind the golden EIB microphone. His "day job" is hosting a show in Dallas, Texas, where he's been since the early 1990s.

Despite the slow economic recovery across most of the country, Mark's home state of Texas has been outperforming the rest of the U.S. The Lone Star State was the first to bounce back and has accounted for 47 percent of the jobs created for the two years after the recession. Small business and entrepreneurs thrive. More and more corporations are moving to Texas to grow and expand, including Toyota which just left California for Texas.

So how did Texas do it? Mark tries to answer the question in his book, "Lone Star America". He joined us on "Riley & Scot" to discuss what Illinois leaders might be able to learn from Rick Perry and company. It's a long list, as you might imagine:
