Riley & I were pleased to welcome Ken DeCoster into our studios this week. Ken, as you might be aware, spent more than 30 years in the radio business here in Rockford. He recently accepted a new role in the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office and taking on the responsibilities as Crimestoppers coordinator.

Ken told us he'll spend some of his time working as the sheriff's public information officer. He'll be the point man in getting the word out about county activities, raising public safety alerts, and disseminating information from any incidents in which County Sheriffs are involved. As mentioned, though, a large part of the job is taking over from our friend Rich Gambini as director of Rockford Crime Stoppers.

You know the drill by now; Crime Stoppers offers rewards from $100 to $1,000 for any tip that leads to an arrest. No tax dollars ever are used for for the rewards. The organization is funded through private donations.

We look forward to weekly visits from Ken on the Tuesday show at 8:35 a.m. We'll chat about any crime-related news happening in the area, discuss any pressing public safety issues, run down the week's Wanted List from Crimestioppers, and, of course, have some fun.

Here's our full chat with Ken DeCoster:
