Many Winnebago County Residents Will Soon Have to Pay $250 to Have Yard Debris Removed
Before my family moved to Pecatonica, we lived in Cherry Valley Township, and after reading what I am about to share with you, I would be spitting nails if I still lived there.
Here's why...
Rock River Disposal Will Begin Charging Extra For Yard Debris Pickup
According to mystateline.com, many Winnebago County residents will be receiving letters soon, (or have already), from Rock River Disposal informing them that as of August 1, 2022, they are suspending yard debris pickup for anyone who lives outside the City of Rockford limits.
Do you live in Rockford Township, Cherry Valley Township, or some other unincorporated part of Winnebago County? Get ready to pay more for your yard debris pickup...or find some other way to get rid of it.
So how much will you have to pay? $250 for a season subscription and this cost will still come with the current yard bag limit of 5 per week!
Why is Rock River Disposal Suspending Their Yard Debris Pickup Service?
Like most things in life these days, Rock River Disposal was forced to make this decision due to "increased costs and labor shortages". A banner on Rock River Disposal's website says;
Effective August 1st, 2022 Our yard waste program for our Unincorporated Winnebago County Residents will be discontinued. This will not effect our contracted subscription areas.
So, if people decide to start working again is there hope that Rock River Disposal will reinstate their yard debris pickup services for unincorporated Winnebago County residents without having to pay extra? Only time will tell I guess.
