Former Congressman Bobby Schilling has been a frequent guest on the program, dating back to his first run for office back in 2010. After winning the 17th District Congressional seat, Bobby lost a remapped 17th to current Rep. Cheri Bustos in 2012 and was defeated in a rematch in 2014.

However, it appears his political career might not be finished quite yet. There was a report in Roll Call earlier this week that Schilling was considering a run in the special election to replace Rep. Aaron Schock in the 18th Congressional district. Roll Call says Schilling represented 16 percent of potential voters in the old 17th District from 2011-12.

Now there's a press conference scheduled for Saturday morning in Peoria where it's said Schilling will make a "special announcement." Considering the timing and the location I think it's safe to say there's a much better than 50/50 shot that Schilling will be running.

Unlike the 17th District, the 18th was remapped to be a reliably Republican seat. It's likely the winner of the GOP primary will become the new Congressman for that area. Current State Sen. Darin LaHood is an acknowledged candidate for the post, but other than that the race appears open.

We'll find out all we need to know tomorrow morning. Here's Schilling's final ad from the 2014 campaign:
