After missing out two previous times, a ski jumper from Illinois finally makes the Olympics.

Many athletes have a goal in life to make the Olympics to compete in their sport so they represent their country.

For everyone that makes it, there are thousands that don't.

A ski jumper from Cary, Illinois never gave up on his Olympic dreams.

According to dailyherald.com,

"Michael Glasder clinched a spot in the Pyeongchang Games on Sunday as the overall winner at the U.S. Olympic trials for ski jumping."

"He qualified for his first Olympics after missing the cut in 2010 and 2014."

Congratulations to Michael for achieving his dream and not giving up. Make sure to watch for him during the Winter Olympics this February.
