Ice Castles Will Have A New Home In Lake Geneva
Last year, Ice Castles were downtown along the shore of Geneva Lake. This winter, they'll be heading to a famous golf course.
For this year's festivities, Ice Castles will be moving over to the driving range at the beautiful Geneva National Golf Course.
For those unfamiliar with one of Instagram's favorite photo subjects:
Overlooking a large pond and gently rolling terrain, the golf course location makes it possible to build a bigger castle, measuring about an acre in size. The new address also allows for easier parking and the ability to have a gift shop stocked with Ice Castles souvenirs.
Workers are expected to start growing and harvesting icicles this month, with a target opening date in early January. Weather permitting, Ice Castles will stay open through early March. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and noon to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Closed Monday.
Admission is $11.99 for children and $16.99 for adults during the week, or $15.99 and $20.99 on weekends. Like last season, kids under the age of 4 get in free. Tickets will go on sale at icecastles.com anywhere from a week to 10 days before the season premiere.
