If you've been putting off getting your annual flu shot because of lack of time, money, or whatever--today's a great day to get it done.

Just head over to Javon Bea Hospital–Rockton, located at 2400 N. Rockton Avenue, between 3pm and 7pm today and take advantage of their offer of a free, drive-thru community flu clinic.

With all the buzz going toward COVID-19 and the vaccines that are being prepped, it's pretty easy to lose sight of the fact that flu season is upon us once again. And, as you're no doubt aware, the flu is a very serious health threat as well.

MercyHealthSystem.org:

From the convenience of their vehicles, guests will receive a free flu shot, as well as a gift bag of free winter essentials including a hat, scarf and glove set, hand warmers, a fleece blanket, ice scrapper and more. All guests must get a flu shot in order to receive the free gift bag. Guests will also meet Mercyhealth staff and Molina Healthcare staff to learn about important health services.

A free flu shot and a gift bag? Normally you'd have to suffer through a birthday party in order to get a gift bag, so that makes today's event even better.

Some other details:

  • Anyone who is 18 or older may get the vaccine, as long as supplies last
  • No I.D. is required, but you are encouraged to bring one if you have it
  • Family members who go together in the same car can get the free flu shot if they're 18 or older
  • It's happening in the parking lot of Javon Bea Hospital-Rockton Avenue, signs will direct you where to go
  • The process should only take a few minutes
