In the campaign for U.S. Senate last year, both Riley & I came away very impressed with the losing candidate in the Republican primary. Doug Truax was the first person to announce he would challenge U.S. Senator Dick Durbin for his seat. The West Point graduate and businessman never got the opportunity, as he was defeated by State Senator Jim Oberweis in the primary. And, as you know, Oberweis went on to lose the race in November, though it was closer than many expected it to be.

Now Truax is back on the scene and ready to impact other races in the 2016 cycle. He joined the show this week to talk about his new conservative federal PAC called RestorationPAC and Restoration Action, his 501(c)4 . He told us he'l be advocating strong national defense and conservative principles and eventually will get involved in races, perhaps as soon as 2016.

Truax plans to file paperwork this week and tells us the website will be up soon at RestorationPAC.com.
