Is it too early to be thinking about football?

One Fighting Illini game this fall already was scheduled for primetime, and now the Big Ten Network has announced the Illinois at Nebraska on September 27 also will be played under the lights. The Illini and Huskers are slated for an 8 p.m. start in Lincoln to be broadcast right here on WROK (and on BTN).

Last week, ABC/ESPN announced that the November 1 game at Ohio State will be a 7 p.m. start on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2 (and here on WROK).

Other highlights of the slate include:

The Fighting Illini will play seven home games in 2014, including a Big Ten slate of Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa and Penn State at Memorial Stadium. This year marks the first season of East-West divisional play in the Big Ten Conference. Illinois is in the Big Ten West division along with Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin. Ohio State is one of two crossover games for the Illini in 2014, along with Penn State.
