If you haven't yet been downtown on a Friday night for the Rockford City Market, you've been missing out. However, there are still lots of opportunities to fix that, starting with this coming Friday.

Rockford First - Use PVC pipes to get a ball into a bucket. Try to get a roll of toilet paper over and under your teammates without ripping the paper. While holding hands, get the hula hoop all around a circle of people. We will also have chalk, hula hoops, and bubbles.

GATES
Rockford Rage Roller Derby - The Rockford Rage Women's Roller Derby has open recruitment going on all summer. Email rockfordrage@gmail.com if interested. Please join us at our next home bout Sept.19th at Sportscore 2, 8800 E Riverside Blvd. Loves Park. Doors at 6pm and game starts at 7pm.

ROCKFORD HEALTH SYSTEM
Visit with staff from the Rockford Memorial Hospital Surgery Department this week at our booth at Market & Water Streets. Staff will have surgical instruments, drapes, sponges and other equipment and supplies used in surgery. Try your surgical skills on the interactive laparoscopy simulator. Kids can play the "Operation" game. Learn more about surgical implants in various surgeries and see skeleton models with orthopedic implants in place. There will be a variety of games and giveaways as well.

SNAP BENEFITS
The Rockford City Market and the North End City Market accept SNAP benefits/LINK card this season.Market staff will process EBT transactions at the information booth and customers will then spend the tokens at the vendor booths. Vendors with eligible items will be listed. Note that prepared food or beverages made on site are not eligible.

NORTH END CITY MARKET (Saturday 9am-1pm)
Secret Serenade will be performing, a Rockford based acoustic guitar duo doing a variety of classic rock, alternative, country, and blues with an activity by International Exchange.
