Talk about a long distance commute.

Thanks to the Detroit Free Press many people are becoming familiar with the trek that 56-year-old James Robertson makes each morning to get to his job and each evening to get home. The Detroit man walks a 21-mile round trip, which would be work enough for me to constitute a full day or labor.

The good news is Robertson might not be walking much longer. After reading the article, some people felt moved to set up online fundraising efforts to buy Robertson a new car. It's been a success. As of Tuesday morning, a total of $180,000 has been raised from people all over the country.

With that amount of cash he simply could buy a home much closer to work if he wanted.
