You know it's time. It's probably overdue (at least that's what my wife said about mine). We're talking about cleaning out your closets, and doing some good all at the same time.

Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful (KNIB) will be holding a clothing drive from 9am-2pm, Saturday, October 10th, at all Winnebago County Schnucks Markets and at the Belvidere Township Office.

KNIB's Executive Director Lori Gummow details what KNIB is looking for:

“Clean clothing that’s no longer needed can be re-used or re-purposed, please drop off items in plastic bags. Clothing may be redistributed throughout the world. What’s not wearable will be used to make fiberfill or otherwise re-purposed."

In addition to clothing, KNIB could also use some volunteer help:

Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful seeks 120 volunteers for the nine drive locations. Volunteers help donors unload such items as clean men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and shoes, hats, belts, purses, soft-sided luggage, throw rugs, curtains, stuffed toys, sheets, blankets and towels. Volunteers count the cars and greet the drivers,
as well as load clothing into trucks. The fall event is the environmental non-profit’s third clothing drive this year. Clothing is also accepted at the two Recycle Center locations weekly in Roscoe and Rockford.

If you'd like more info, or you'd like to volunteer, visit their webpage here, check out their Facebook page, or call (815) 637-1343.
