The Bears organization has announced a $100,000 donation to United Way of Rock River Valley to help in their work. Additionally, Bears players Blake Annen, Ryan Mundy and Will Sutton are scheduled to support AmeriCorps St. Louis’ relief efforts today in Fairdale. The players will assist with debris clean-up and other projects beginning at 10:30 a.m. before visiting the Kirkland Fire Department meet with families and first responders.

The United Way of Rock River Valley collaborated with Kishwaukee United Way, United Way of Boone County and United Way of Lee County to create the Northern Illinois Disaster Relief Fund in response to this month’s severe storms. Individuals may contribute specifically to the long-term recovery needs of the communities devastated by the tornadoes at the United Way website.
