Brookfield Zoo Unveils Their New (Chicago) Bears Exhibit
Brookfield Zoo officially welcomed the Chicago Bears out of hibernation Wednesday.
Zoo guests showed up at the exhibit not knowing that the football players were going to be on display. Mascot Stanley Da Bear came out first before tight end Zach Miller, offensive lineman Cody Whitehair and running backs Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen came out one by one.
This is some good PR for a team that needs it. The Bears finished last season 3-13 and with the rise of the Cubs and Blackhawks in town many Chicago residents were growing apathetic towards the Monsters of the Midway.
All the guys hung out for awhile and signed autographs for the fans when they were done.
Because ridiculous PR events have to be followed up by ridiculous questions from the press the guys were asked what they could learn from the actual bears. Cody Whitehair replied "We want a little bit of edge this year. Obviously, we're playing with a chip on our shoulder because we didn't have a great season last year, and we're ready to turn that around." Good luck Cody. You guys have about a 2 game grace period before your fans turn on you again. Bear down and good luck!
