Four Of America’s Best Hospitals Happen To Be In Illinois

Dang, my city doesn't have one of the best hospitals in America, but maybe yours does!

According to a new study, 4 of America's BEST hospitals happen to be in Illinois.  I'm REALLY curious to see who made this list because I've never heard of a study comparing hospitals.  How does one figure out if a hospital is the best?

In my opinion, I'd say it's the best if they have good Wi-Fi, a large waiting room, and fast at getting me to a room to be observed.  Sounds dumb, but we need good service to keep in touch with family and options to sit as far away from people as possible!

"Hospitals were disqualified if they exceeded national mortality rates for heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or coronary bypass surgery."

Across 148 hospitals across the country, these 4 Illinois hospitals made the cut!

#1: AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center, Chicago

"Our medical center is ranked among the best Illinois hospitals for stroke and offers exceptional cardiovascular care."

#2: Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb

"Short-term, acute-care community hospital in DeKalb, Illinois, with more than 150 physicians on the medical staff."

I rarely go to the hospital, but it's honestly good to know what hospitals you can trust with your life when you're in life threatening situations.  The only two hospitals I've been to are in Rockford and they've never been bad experiences!

#3: Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, Palos Heights

"425 licensed beds and more than 600 affiliated physicians"

#4: University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago

"Nationally ranked academic medical center located in Hyde Park on the South Side of Chicago."

Fun fact, after reading the study I found out most hospitals in the state of Illinois got a "C" grade after the assessment.  That's kinda low, not going to lie.  What can we do to make our medical centers better?
