Law enforcement tends to use whatever means necessary to apprehend a potential suspect.

That includes the use of social media services like Facebook or Twitter.

For the Belvidere Police Department, a Facebook post asking residents for help in identifying a suspect has garnered some insane comment chatter.

In the post, the cops mention they're "investigating a Battery that took place in Belvidere" and asked if they know the guy in the photo to call the station.

Underneath, in the comment section, is where things get weird.

Comments range from "snitch" to "Kid in the blue used to live with my bf" to "He and I could have f**king sank Matt and put him away for a long a** time."

The funniest comment mentions "they are looking for this dude and his girlfriend is all over this with his buddies calling people snitches."

The lurid comments have led Facebook gumshoes to speculate on who the suspect wearing the Cubs sweatshirt might be.

However after a brief conversation with the Belvidere Police Department, the suspect is still on the loose.

If you happen to know who this person might be, call the Belvidere Police Department at 815-544-2135.
