•  There are some significant traffic delays in Rockford. Parts of the U.S. 20 bypass, State street and Perryville Road will be restricted for the rest of the afternoon as Vice-President Joe Biden's motorcade arrives for an event at the IBEW Union Hall.
  • A Wisconsin man was arrested for his 6th drunk driving charge late last night. Police say 61-year-old Ronald Goetzman was driving all over the road. Goetzman admitted to officers he had been drinking and subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
  • Rockford Gas prices continue to drop. GasBuddy.com reports the average price for gasoline is now $3.05/g, which is down seven cents in the past week.  The mark ties this region with the rest of the nation. Over a dozen Rockford gas stations are selling gas below $3 a gallon, with the cheapest at $2.90 being offered at the Sam’s Club on Walton Street.
  • A fire on the west side of Rockford has destroyed a home. The fire started early this morning in the 600 block of Whitman Street.  Firefighters arrived on the scene and found live wires in the street and a ruptured gas line. The building is a total loss, but no one was hurt.
  • Love Park Police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for a string of burglaries. 34 year-old Jeremy Smith of Beloit was caught early Saturday morning as he was breaking into the Town Hall Lounge in the 5000 block of 2nd street in Loves Park. Around twelve Stateline businesses have been burglarized in the past week.
  • Illinois health officials say medical workers who wore protective equipment correctly while treating Ebola patients in West Africa won't have to stay at home for 21 days. A spokeswoman says the state quarantine announced Friday is only for "high-risk" people who might have been exposed to the virus without protective gear.
  • Emergency Trucks on the Illinois Toll way are now being equipped with new safety lights to help first responders and drivers. Red emergency lights will replace the yellow flashing lights to alert drivers to slow down and move over. Research has indicated red lights are more effective and visible to alert driers to the presence of emergency vehicles.
