A Video Game Foreshadowed The Cubs World Series Win 5 Years Ago Today

If you're like me you remember where you were when this commercial was released 5 years ago. 

The Cubs had just started rebuilding. We were getting used to how Theo operated. Kris Bryant was in his sophomore year of college. Joe Maddon still had 3 more years in Tampa. There still was a McDonald's across the street from Wrigley. Donald Trump was just the host of the Apprentice.

To put it mildly, things have changed. The best part about this commercial is that it really isn't that far off. In someways the actual celebration might have even eclipsed what was portrayed in the commercial. Check out some of the reactions in this Cubs celebration compilation video.

Now I'm just looking forward to the Madden25 commercial in eight years predicting a Bears Super Bowl win. But now I'm just being ridiculous.
