Maybe this news hits you as a bit of a surprise, as it did our own Joe Dredge when I told him about the Chicago Cubs' price structure. Joe, like several others I spoke with all said the same thing: "I thought it would be the Yankees."

If you thought it would be the Yankees, too--you're close. They're the second-most expensive fan experience in Major League Baseball.

Time2Play.com Took A Look Into What It Costs To Attend A Home Game At 29 MLB Stadiums (They skipped Toronto)

The bottom line, regardless of the team and stadium you choose, is you'd better bring money along.

Time2Play.com looked at the costs two different ways. One way was for the overall experience, which they defined as "one general ticket, 2 beers, 1 hot dog, and parking." The other way is the cost of just buying a general ticket and not the beers, dog, or a place to park.

Cubs Fans "Fly The W" When The Team Wins A Game, But Team Management Flies It When They Check The Game Receipts

The Cubs may not have the most expensive general ticket in the Major Leagues (that belongs to the Boston Red Sox at $61.71), but they do rake in the most for the "full experience."

According to Time2Play.com's number-crunchers, a ticket, two beers, a hot dog, and parking for a Chicago Cubs game will set you back $110.17. That's almost 8 dollars more than the second-place New York Yankees' take of $102.70.

Rounding out the top 5 most expensive fan experiences in Major League Baseball:

3. Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park: $101.36

4. Washington Nationals, Nationals Park: $99.42

5. San Francisco Giants, Oracle Park: $89.72

As for that other Chicago team, the White Sox, the full experience will run you $72.10.
