The entire project is supposed to be completed in about 3 years.

MyStateline - “It’ll be a building that will bring more people downtown,” Paul Logli, the board president for the Rockford Public Library says.

The Rockford Public Library says that building would pop up next to the space where the new library is set to go on Wyman Street. Logli says that development project would bring more apartment units and retail space to downtown Rockford.

The new five or six-story building will reportedly have residential units, and green space leading up to the river, and at least one restaurant.

It will hopefully bring even more life a downtown area that has seen pretty incredible growth over the last decade.

Iowa based Bush Construction will be developing the site. Right now they're getting all their zoning issues in place, construction should begin in about 18 months.
