Would You Do This at Rockford’s Chick-fil-A for Free Ice Cream?
Free ice cream is pretty amazing, but would you part with this in order to get it?
Think about the last time you ate a meal. Where was your phone? My phone was right next to me.
Ok, I'm lying it was in my hand. My phone and I are total BFFS.
You probably have a pretty close relationship with your phone too, which is why the Chick-fil-A location in North Charleston, South Carolina has created the "Cell Phone Coop" challenge.
The restaurant created a box titled, "cell phone coop," and they've started giving the boxes to families as they enter the restaurant. The box includes these rules:
Turn all family cell phones to silent and place in this cell phone coop.
Enjoy your Chick-fil-A meal and each other distraction free!
After the meal, let us know that you have successfully completed the challenge and each of you will receive a small Icedream cone.
Face to face family conversation and an ice cream cone? Sounds pretty awesome to me. Chick-fil-A locations are individually owned, so this is not a national part of the brand, but many locations have begun a similar program.
I called the Chick-fil-A on Perryville and so far they aren't doing this promotion, but the manager I spoke with said they have heard about it before. Would you like to see this in Rockford? I sure would!
