Two NUIC schools are second and third in the latest State wrestling 1A Illinois Matmen rankings.

Dakota/Orangeville (12-5) fell from the top spot to second. Lena-Winslow/Stockton (18-1) was ranked third.

Coal City was ranked first after beating runner up Dakota by 27 points for the PIT crown. Coal City beat Lena-Winslow 35-30 in a dual.

A much anticipated Dakota and Lena-Winslow dual was postponed Wednesday due to winter weather. That has been rescheduled for Jan. 26.

Dakota has two top ranked 1A wrestlers in Andrew Wenger at 170 and Maverick McPeek at 220. The duo both took first at the PIT.

Freshman Evan Riggle was a solid third at the PIT and is moving up the 113 pound state rankings.

Dakota, who is going for a fifth straight state championship, and Lena-Winslow are on a collision course at the same Individual Regional.

Only the winner will advance to the state duals and likely face top ranked Coal City. Dakota beat the Coalers in the title match last season.
