With highs barely reaching the 60s today, it seems appropriate to talk about fall colors.

According to the above map, we should be reaching peak fall colors in the Stateline area between October 12th and October 19th, so you still have a month to plan your fall foliage trip.

There are a couple of nice places in the area to see the changing of the colors. The drive down Route 2 is always a nice trip in the fall. Enjoy Illinois even puts a Rockford attraction in the top 10 of Illinois' best places to see fall colors: Anderson Japanese Gardens.

EnjoyIllinois - At Anderson Japanese Gardens, you’ll find a meticulously landscaped, colorful environment that’ll invigorate your soul. Take a stroll through the grounds to view some of the most scenic foliage in Illinois, like the alluring Japanese maples with their crimson-colored leaves. And don’t forget to peer into the waters or you might miss the radiant golden orange scales of the garden’s resident koi.

Just another reminder that we have some world-class (literally) in the Forest City.
