After an impressive preseason stint, Rockford Auburn's Fred Van Vleet has realized his NBA dream, claiming the final spot on the Toronto Raptors roster.

Van Vleet has played well for the Raptors in preseason. His minutes increased after an injury to Delon Wright, but according to reports, team officials were impressed with his play.

Against San Lorenzo de Almagro, an Argentian club, Van Vleet scored 31 point with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

The Raptors are stocked pretty good at point guard with Kyle Lowry at starter and Cory Joseph backing him up, so minutes may be tough. There have been times during the preseason that Van Vleet has played with one of them at the same time, and the Raptors like the way he handles full bench units.

Exciting times with a Rockford native in the NFL and now we will have one join him in the NBA.
