I guess when you've gone a century without a World Series title, Cubs fans aren't shy to ask if certain rules can be bent to allow for playoff action.

Take this story of a University of Illinois student, via Sports Illustrated:

Ben Larson, a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, comes from a household filled with diehard Cubs fans. They were able to secure tickets to Wednesday’s wild-card game against the Pirates, and hoped to travel to Pittsburgh as a family. There was just one problem: Ben had a midterm scheduled for Thursday.

Ben did what any die-hard baseball fan might do: he asked for a slight change to the exam schedule:

And the good news for Ben is there will be plenty of road time to study for the class.
