Every single week 97ZOK loves to recognize teachers for the amazing work they do for the kids of RPS 205, and it's because of them that we have incredible kids who want to do incredible things for not just their school, but for our community.

Two groups of high schoolers from Rockford are doing just that- they are on a mission to make their community a better place by implementing a project that addresses an issue or issues that plague our city.

Jefferson High School and Rockford East High School are officially in the running to receive a grant from Ford Next Generation Learning totaling $10,000. Two out of 10 high schools will receive $5,000 to support the implementation of their proposed projects.

Take a look and the projects from both schools and be sure to vote here; every vote gets them one step closer to turning their dream of making Rockford a better place to live a reality.

Voting ends April 12th at 4pm and you can vote once per day, which means you should vote today because there's not a lot of time left...and you might forget to do it tomorrow.

Best of luck to both schools and thank you for all of your efforts to make Rockford better.
