Rockford native (and Guilford grad) Kristen McQueary from the Chicago Tribune's editorial board joined us the show this week to lend her insight on what's happening during this session in Springfield.

We discussed the evolving budget battle between Bruce Rauner and Democrats in the House and Senate, the upcoming negotiations between the Governor and AFSCME, and the Tribune's recent story on pension spiking happening in school districts around the state.

McQueary told us she has been told that Gov. Bruce Rauner has put concessions on the table when it comes to budget talks, but that outreach has not been reciprocated:
